About the materials

Fine-art matte paper

Heavy cotton-rag matte paper with a soft, velvety finish. No glare, deep blacks, rich detail - the gallery choice for framing.

Glossy photo paper

Bright, punchy colour and a high-gloss finish, like a classic photo lab print. Best behind glass or in a frame.

Matte canvas

Our everyday gallery-wrapped canvas, stretched by hand over a wooden frame. Ready to hang, no glass needed.

Artist-grade satin canvas

Our best canvas: a heavier artist-grade cloth with a satin sheen that makes colour glow. Stretched by hand, ready to hang.

Questions

What kind of photo works best?

The original file straight from your camera or phone. Photos sent through Facebook, Messenger or WhatsApp are shrunk and can look soft when printed large. As you crop, the quality meter tells you whether your photo has enough detail for the size you chose.

Which material should I choose?

Fine-art matte paper is the gallery choice for framing behind glass - no glare and lovely detail. Glossy paper gives bright, punchy colour like a photo lab print. Matte canvas is our everyday ready-to-hang canvas, and artist-grade satin canvas is our best: a heavier cloth with a soft sheen that makes colour glow.

Do canvas prints come ready to hang?

Yes. Every canvas is stretched by hand over a wooden frame in our St. John's studio and arrives ready to hang. Choose 3/4" or the deeper 1 1/2" wrap, and mirrored, black or white sides, so none of your photo is lost around the edges.

Can I crop my photo?

Yes - after you upload, drag and zoom your photo inside the frame of the size you picked, and turn it between portrait and landscape. What you see in the frame is what we print.

How big a file can I upload?

Up to 120 MB, as a JPEG, PNG or WebP. Big files upload in pieces, so a slow connection is fine.

Can I pick it up instead?

Yes. Local pickup in St. John's is free - choose it at checkout and we'll let you know when it's ready. You can also book a studio visit to see canvas and paper samples first.

Is my photo kept private?

Your photo is only used to make your print. It isn't shown anywhere on the site, and photos that are never ordered are deleted after 30 days.
